About the conference

The commitment of engineers, scientists and technologists, to ensuring a safe and abundant food supply, preserving the environment and contributing to healthier people everywhere is integral to the evolution of the world society. Recognizing the importance to discuss these issues critically, the International Conference on Agricultural and Food Engineering was initiated in 2012 by the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and the Department of Process and Food Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The aim of these biennial conferences is to provide a conducive platform to discuss and exchange relevant information, identifying new theoretical and practical approaches to address the tremendous challenges associated with agriculture and food engineering.

CAFEi2016

“Sustaining Agriculture, Preserving Life”

 

The Third International Conference on Agricultural and Food Engineering (CAFEi2016) will be hosted by the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and the Department of Process and Food Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. This conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 23-25 August, 2016.

The main objective of CAFEi2016 is to provide a forum to present and discuss innovation in agricultural and food engineering to meet the needs of humankind sustainably, in line with the theme of the conference “Sustaining Agriculture, Preserving Life”. We believe that this conference can become a platform in finding new and more sustainable ways of addressing global food security issue to meet the need of growing population and changing lifestyle.

 

We welcome scientists, engineers, researchers, academicians, government authorities, economists, architects, journalist and entrepreneurs from all over the world to present their ideas, innovation or local solutions to gain more understanding about problem of feeding the world in the future. This conference will be a venue for critical discussion, potential solutions and promotions of recent innovation in agricultural and food engineering to feed the world in 2050.
